For roughly a decade, I fabricated a custom car. Originally a Trabant, the Trabantimino uses hydraulics to extend six feet, transforming into the silhouette of a Chevrolet El Camino. I was both builder and model, inserting myself into the labor, performance, and mythology of the machine.
