From Stories Better Told by Others, this series commemorates the cover models of Lowrider Magazine, whose visual contributions shaped the aesthetics and attitude of lowrider culture. Their roles have been minimized or erased in a rebranding that removed sexualized images of women. Each photograph is enhanced with hand-painted lettering by Bugs Gonzalez, a celebrated pinstriper.
