Three generations of women—myself, lowrider icon Dazza del Rio, and the spirit of Lisa Lyon in her twenties—re-perform the Mapplethorpe portraits of Lyon, the first female world champion bodybuilder. Despite her cultural impact, Lyon vanished in the internet age. Like her, Dazza’s contributions have been erased from Lowrider Magazine’s searchable history.
