I began the Summer of 2008 in the lab of Dr Bruce Rittmann of Enviro
BioTech at BioDesign Institute, here on ASU campus. He is supporting
research that investigates the roles of naturally active proteins
with goals aimed to fitting those proteins into new roles, beneficial
to human kind.
I was fortunate to find that his then PhD student, (now Dr) John
Schloendorn was deeply involved in research that was sequestering
active proteins from diverse environments and testing their native
activities in foreign environments designed at ASU, such as human cell
culture. It's very interesting work!
