Lance Ward received a master's degree in mathematics from Brigham Young University, Utah. He has been teaching at ASU since 1993 and has taught most first and second-year mathematics courses. He often teaches adaptive learning courses, Precalculus, and the business calculus sequence. For eight years he coordinated tutor centers for the school, including the Pathways Precalculus Tutor Center. For 18 years he has taught graphing calculator workshops, and he chaired the First Year Math Technology Committee for 11 years. He has been elected three times to the FYM Personnel Committee, has coordinated several mathematics courses and faculty, has served for ten years on the University Hearing Board to review student appeals for disciplinary action, and mentors new faculty.
