Kati Weingartner came to ASU in 1980 as a graduate
student in Computer Science and just never left. She is
responsible for many areas of the campus computing
environment at ASU Polytechnic and ASU Tempe, including mediated
classroom support, student computing, and Deskside support. Prior to
moving to Poly, she spent 17 years in the College of Engineering and
Applied Sciences (CEAS), helping to found Engineering Computer
Services, an entrepreneurial support organization aiding the research
enterprise of the college. The first group on campus to run
Unix, ECS provided cutting edge services to the researchers, staff and
students of the college at a time when those services weren't
available anywhere else. Her field of study is Digital Design. Kati
participates in community efforts with technology in the East Valley.
With the emergence of the Polytechnic Vision and renaming the
campus Arizona State University Polytechnic, new colleges and programs
requiring new support have emerged. IT has been instrumental in the
success of moving and growing these programs.
Lately Kati is involved with integrating the University
Technology Office as the service provider for the schools, colleges,
and departments of ASU Polytechnic.... And Beyond!
Kati has a BA in Psychology from Colorado Women's College(1978)
and an MS in Computer Science from Arizona State University(1985).
