Ann Toca joined the Enterprise Marketing Hub in November 2013 as the office's first executive appointment under Chief Marketing Officer Dan Dillon. She oversees the development and implementation of brand strategies that build and advance ASU brand strength, including the launch and implementation of the Core Brand Group to improve brand engagement and perceptions. Through her role on the ASU Brand Council, Toca secures and monitors ASU's brand assets while actively pursuing effective strategies to ensure trademark integrity. She works closely with the Hub's knowledge and insights team to identify market research priorities and integrate insights into the Hub's marketing and communications strategies and oversees media planning and buying with the goal of building brand awareness and excellence perceptions of the university.
Prior to joining the Hub, Toca led an ASU Foundation team responsible for development communications and media relations strategies. She played leadership roles in the foundation’s strategic planning and original crowd-funding efforts, as well as the development of a university affinity program, selection and deployment of a CRM system, creation of the university’s advertising campaigns, and the re-launch of the university’s website in 2013 to advance recruiting goals and enable ease of use for all university constituents. She worked with design visionary Bruce Mau in 2008 on the creation of ASU's brand look and feel and published the precursor to today's brand guidelines.
Toca's professional background includes more than 20 years in consumer packaged goods and agencies prior to joining ASU in 2006. She is a summa cum laude graduate of ASU's W. P. Carey School of Business, earning a BS in marketing. Her daughter is a junior at ASU studying elementary education, and her son is a high school senior. Ann has nine siblings and was the first in her family to receive a university degree. She lives in nearby Scottsdale Ranch with her son, dog and two cats, and outside of ASU enjoys family, discovering new restaurants, exploring her new neighborhood and volunteering.
