Originally from Sarasota, Florida, Dr. Will Dobra has been performing and teaching trumpet for almost 30 years. He holds a Doctorate and Master’s degree in Trumpet Performance from The University of Texas at Austin, where he studied with Raymond Crisara, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from The University of South Florida under the mentorship of Don Owen.
Since moving to Phoenix in 2002, Dr. Dobra has become a distinguished performer, collaborating with renowned ensembles such as the Canadian Brass, Il Volo, the Phoenix Symphony, Salt River Brass, Sonoran Brass, Southwest Brass, and the MusicaNova Orchestra.
As an educator, Dr. Dobra has taught trumpet to students of all levels, from elementary beginners to collegiate musicians. He has served on the faculty of Phoenix College and Paradise Valley Community College and has been deeply involved in music education at Rosie's House—a free music academy for underserved children in Phoenix—as well as at Arizona School for the Arts.
