Dr. Sue Annie Rodríguez De Jesús is the Senior Project Manager of the Positive Environments for Adolescents and Children Lab (PEAC Lab) at Arizona State University (ASU). The PEAC Lab is a learning laboratory that focuses on the role of contextual influences in children and adolescents’ development, both in terms of their well-being and psychopathology.
Her research centers on identifying the factors that influence resilience and developmental outcomes from adolescence through early adulthood. Her work examines how individual characteristics, social relationships, and broader contextual influences shape behavioral, academic, and psychological development across time. Dr. Rodríguez De Jesús is particularly interested in understanding the conditions that contribute to positive adjustment, as well as those associated with increased risk during key developmental transitions.
Her methodological expertise includes longitudinal research design and mixed-method approaches aimed at capturing patterns of change and stability across time. A central focus of her work is understanding the role of social relationships—particularly those involving peers and family members (e.g., siblings)—and how these dynamics support or hinder healthy development.
With over seventeen years of research experience, Dr. Rodríguez De Jesús has contributed to several interdisciplinary research initiatives aimed at expanding knowledge on resilience and developmental processes. Before joining the PEAC Lab, she was a mixed-methods Senior Research Scientist in Action Lab at EdPlus in ASU. Also, she worked as a Research Analyst in the Biostatistics Core in the College of Health at ASU. Dr. Rodríguez De Jesús earned her Ph.D. in Family and Human Development with a focus on quantitative methodology from ASU. She is certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt from Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at ASU.
