Shari Gustafson

Shari Gustafson serves as the Associate Dean of Students on the Tempe campus. In her role, she provides oversight to the Office of Student Advocacy and Assistance, Off Campus Student Relations, ASU Family Resources, and Religious/Spiritual Life at the University; which includes serving as liaison to the Council of Religious Advisors. She began her tenure at ASU in 2008 serving in various leadership positions, most recently as Director of Academic Support within the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts. Additionally, she teaches online courses in Organizational Leadership and Interdisciplinary Studies programs. Prior to coming to ASU in 2008, Shari served as Program Coordinator Sr. for Northern Arizona University where she launched local programs in collaboration with Maricopa Community Colleges. In 2000, she started her career as an Assistant Director of Operations for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University at Sky Harbor.

With over 20 years of experience in higher education, her focus centers on connecting students to their passions, while supporting their academic success and addressing their wellbeing through empathetic and trauma informed practices.
