Evette Mei

Evette Mei is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and educator at the ASU School of Social Work, where she serves as an Assistant Teaching Professor and the West Valley Campus Director. With an MSW from the University of Washington and a BS from the University of Arizona in Family Studies and Human Development, she specializes in treating trauma and supporting LGBTQ+ individuals and couples.

In addition to her academic leadership, Evette is the President of her private practice focused on evidence-based individual and couples therapy. She has been formally trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), the Gottman Method for couples Level 2, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Her professional background includes serving as a Clinical Program Manager and DEI Champion, where she developed gender-affirming programs and led multidisciplinary teams in integrated care settings. Evette is committed to fostering resiliency within historically marginalized communities while ensuring social work students are equipped to uphold the highest professional and ethical standards.
