Tara Griggs, LCSW, specializes in working with children birth to twelve and their families and has a post graduate certificate in Infant/Family Clinical Practice. Tara has been a child and family therapist in community behavioral health for several years and is currently a Mental Health Consultant for Southwest Human Development in their Smart Suport program. Tara has extensive knowledge of school policy and has helped advocate for children who are struggling in school. Tara has worked with children and families who have experienced trauma and has educated others on the effects of trauma and the importance of trauma informed care. In her current role Tara has supported teachers, administrators, and directors in understanding and meeting the needs of children and educating them on the importance of building meaningful relationships in preschool and childcare settings. Tara started teaching as a Faculty Associate in 2017 in the School of Social Work and has taught SWU 413, field instruction seminar and 415, integrative seminar.
