Heather Voelkel is the ASU Tucson Program Coordinator and a Teaching Assistant Professor. She earned her Bachelors in English from Emory University in Atlanta, GA and her Masters in Social Work from ASU. Heather has a wealth of experience working with adults and youth- as a clinician, as a teacher, as an advocate. From working in a prison in Matamoros, Mexico, to advocating for food justice in Southern Arizona, to coordinating post-Katrina disaster relief in New Orleans, Heather is staunchly committed to creating a more humane and just society using creativity and human relationships as an impetus for change.
