Christine Espericueta serves as the Assistant Director of Accommodation Services with Student Accessibility and Inclusive Learning Services assisting with the planning, organizing and directing of the day to day operations for Accommodation Services which allow qualified students with disabilities equal access to programs, courses and activities while seeking a higher education at Arizona State University. Christine joined the department under its previous name of Disability Resource Center in July 2011 as the DRC Specialist overseeing the coordination and implementation of disability accommodation services at the Downtown Phoenix location. Some of the disability accommodation services provided include Alternative Testing, Note Taking Services, and Alternative Format Services. In 2015, she became a Disability Access Consultant for the Downtown Phoenix location where her primary responsibilities focused on working with students through an interactive process in determining reasonable and appropriate accommodations for students with disabilities and provide ongoing support for the duration of their academic careers at the university. She also worked in the same capacity at Tempe and West locations. In March 2020, she transitioned into the Lead Accessibility Consultant for the West location managing the daily operations of the West office before becoming the Assistant Director.
Christine wants her work to impact or influences others and recalls many of the individuals who invested in her and provided support during her college experience. Christine began her second career in 2011 after having a strong desire to return to in higher education where her passion for advocating access started. Christine has her Bachelors of Science in Family Resources and Human Development and a Masters of Education in Higher and Postsecondary Education from Arizona State University.
Christine likes creating equal access and opportunities for individuals with disabilities in order to achieve both their academic and personal goals.
