Cassie Richey, LMSW, is a faculty associate at Arizona State
University as well as a school social worker in Phoenix Elementary
School District #1 and is a member of the mobile assessment team at
Valley Hospital. Cassie recieved her MSW from ASU. She started in the
field as a residential staff member at New Haven in Spanish Fork,
Utah. She gained a great love for working with adolescents and
continued that work facilitating an intensive outpatient program for
substance abuse at Mountain Health and Wellness in Apache Junction,
AZ, as well as doing individual and family counseling. While at
MHW Cassie also worked on a mobile crisis team where she responded to
crisis situations in the Pinal County community. Cassie currently
enjoys the variety of working in three social work settings (teaching,
counseling, and assessing) and looks forward to expanding her
interests even further in the years to come. Cassie's great social
work loves are working within the family unit to address
individual challenges, focusing on relationships to facilitate change,
using a variety of therapy (CBT, DBT, MET, Art Therapy, Play Therapy,
Systems Theory etc.), and building rapport by using play and humor. In
her free time Cassie enjoys music, movies, yoga, meditation,
backpacking and camping, making memories with friends and family, and
most importantly spending time with her one-year-old cocker spaniel, Dez.
