Ray Ostos

Dr. Ostos serves as the District Director for Student Affairs at the Maricopa Community Colleges. He leads system-level student affairs programs and initiatives, including student success, first-generation, and special population programs.  Other responsibilities include directing grant programs, leading student basic needs programming, and establishing strategic partnerships with education groups, foundations, and organizations. 

He has over 25 years of experience in directing and leading educational programs. From 2007 to 2012, he served as the National Center for Teacher Education (NCTE) Director at the Maricopa Community Colleges. He also led the National Association of Community College Teacher Education Programs as its Executive Director during this time.  From 2003 to 2007, he served as Director of Community Partnership Programs for NCTE.

Other work experiences include serving as a Hispanic Serving Institution Liaison Officer for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and as an Extension Youth Development Agent for Michigan State University. Since 2013, Dr. Ostos has served as an academic teaching associate for Arizona State University’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College.
