Dr. Martinez is an Assistant Teaching Professor and Online Program Director in the ASU School of Social Work. He is very passionate about student learning and has taught across the social work curriculum for more than 16 years. His research and social work practice experience has concentrated on at-risk behavior prevention programming targeting Hispanic and American Indian youth. Before coming to ASU, Dr. Martinez was a research scientist in the Prevention Research Center (PRC) at the University of New Mexico (UNM). Prior to UNM, he was an assistant professor in the College of Public Health and Social Work at Florida International University and was also a faculty affiliate with the Center for Research on U.S. Latino HIV/AIDS and Drug Abuse.
