Kristy Macdonald serves as the Associate Director in ASU's Office of Research Compliance providing strategic leadership and operational oversight for programs that ensure the ethical, compliant, and responsible conduct of research across the university. Kristy serves as the lead contact and subject matter expert for the Office of Research, Integrity and Assurance (ORIA) organization. She promotes institutional integrity while supporting a thriving, innovative research environment. She oversees compliance frameworks related to Human Subjects' Research, Native American Cultural Reviews, Animal Research, Conflict of Interest, Biosafety Research, Scientific Diving Support, Radiation Safety Support, Combating Trafficking in Persons, Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, Organizational Conflicts of Interests, and Responsible Conduct of Research. Her role serves as a key advisor to university leadership, faculty, regulatory bodies, and external sponsors.
Kristy is a member of the Office of Research Compliance, which brings together the functions of Institutional Compliance and Regulatory Affairs (ICRA) and the Office of Research Integrity and Assurance (ORIA). https://researchcompliance.asu.edu/
Previously, Kristy served as the Assistant Director of ASU's Contracting Services Team. Prior to joining ASU, she worked for the Area Community Services Employment and Training Council (ACSET) in Michigan. She managed several service provider contracts related to employment and training programs funded under the United States Department of Labor. Kristy earned her Masters of Social Work and BS in Psychology from Grand Valley State University.
