Jen Bevins serves as the Director of Data Analytics and Enrollment Strategy for Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions at Arizona State University. She holds a BA in Religious Studies and Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology from the University of Minnesota, an MA in Divinity from the University of Chicago, and an EdD in Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University. As a part of her studies for her doctorate, she performed research about inequalities in access to financial aid for first-generation college students. This study included investigating the effectiveness of a peer-mentorship program based on a critical pedagogy approach as a means to increase access to financial resources. Her current research is on the effects of implementing trauma-informed practice within higher education. Her research interests include quantitative approaches to retention in higher education, first-generation students, the impacts of financial aid and inequalities in access to higher education.
