Linda J. Kim is a Teaching Professor of Sociology and Associate Director for Career-Track Faculty Affairs in the School of Social & Behavioral Sciences (SSBS). Kim has served as Faculty Fellow for the Barrett Honors College and Internship Director for SSBS. In her current role as a Dean's Leadership and Innovation Fellow at New College, she is working on a proposal to bring BA programs into the Arizona prisons, while providing non-credit educational opportunities as a bridge for incarcerated women.
Kim's academic interests focus on the dynamics between culture and structure in society and the political economy of media. She has published in the areas of transnational social movements and popular culture. She regularly teaches Social Change, Cultural Diversity, and Sociology of Gender, with attention to the intersections of gender/sexuality/race/class inequalities and global social change.
