Long Bio
Patience is professor of astrophysics who uses large, ground-based and space-based telescopes to investigate a range of topics in star and planet formation. In exoplanet research, her work focuses on the detection and atmospheric characterization of young giant planets and brown dwarfs. She also studies the disks around young stars and brown dwarfs with infrared imaging and millimeter interferometry. In addition to astronomical research projects, she is involved in innovative teaching and research experience programs for undergraduate students from all backgrounds.
