Ruben Olmedo serves as Director of Development for the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory at Arizona State University (GFL), where he builds relationships and strategic partnerships to support student scholarships, innovative research, and special initiatives advancing GFL and the Rob Walton College of Global Futures.
He brings broad experience across higher education and healthcare philanthropy. Most recently, Ruben served as Interim Director of Development for the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, where he provided leadership to advance scholarships, academic programs, and key priorities. Earlier in his career, he began in donor relations at the ASU Foundation, supporting enterprise‑wide recognition and engagement initiatives and contributing to the meaningful donor retention efforts. Prior to returning to ASU, he held community engagement and development roles at Overlake Medical Center in Bellevue, Washington.
Originally from Southern California, Ruben holds a bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from ASU’s Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions.
