Elizabeth Tirkas

Elizabeth Tirkas is Director of Career Integration at The Futures Center within The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She brings 16 years of experience in higher education, with the last ten years focused on career coaching, career education and management, and college-level career strategic initiatives. In her current role, Elizabeth leads strategy and implementation efforts to integrate career development into the academic experience across the College, partnering with faculty and campus stakeholders to embed career skills, reflection, and workforce relevance into curricula and co-curricular pathways. Prior to her current role, Elizabeth served as Associate Director in the W. P. Carey School of Business, Career Services at Arizona State University, where she supported undergraduate and graduate students and worked closely with employer partners. Her work has consistently centered on helping students articulate their strengths, interests, and values and translate them into meaningful academic and career pathways, while aligning student preparation with evolving workforce needs. Elizabeth’s professional background includes academic advising, service-learning curriculum development, international programs, study abroad, and Fraternity and Sorority Life. She is deeply committed to integrating career skills and values-driven career development into academic curricula. Elizabeth holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Wyoming and an MA in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University.
