Jake Swanson (he/him/they) is a staff member with the Global Futures Laboratory. He is a Program Manager working in energy. He was previously a Master of Science Student at the School of Sustainability studying how co-creation of sustainable future scenarios can impact shared and personal mental models. Jake attended ASU for his undergrad and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sustainability in 2015. Since graduating, Jake has worked in the sustainability space across a variety of industries. He has worked in international supply chain, local government, informal science education, local business consulting, and community engagement. He is currently a commissioner on the Sustainability and Resilience Commission for the City of Tempe and a former board member of Circular Arizona. His research interests include mis/disinformation, deliberative democracy, participatory technology assessments, cocreation, future scenarios, systems thinking, decolonization, happiness in sustainability, informal science education, sustainability communications, and public engagement of sustainability.
