Chris Martin is an Emeritus Professor of Horticulture whose research interests and expertise are stress physiology and the ecological applications of exotic, desert-adapted, and desert-native plants and their role in mitigating climate change and urban heating.
Martin is a Global Futures Scientist in the Global Institute of Sustainability and Innovation at Arizona State University and is a member of the graduate faculty in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Martin has served on the Community Forestry Committee to the Governor’s Arizona Forest Health Council and has been a technical adviser for the national Sustainable Sites Initiative. He is a member of the International Society for Horticultural Science and American Society for Horticultural Science.
