Dr. Paul Tontz is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor and Program Co-Coordinator for the Higher and Postsecondary Education program. Prior to joining ASU he served as an Assistant Teaching Professor at the University of Southern Mississippi’s Higher Education and Student Affairs program. Previously he was the Director of Veterans Services at California State University, San Marcos. He has over 23 years of professional experience in higher education. Most recently, Dr. Tontz completed research related to the lived experiences of trans* student veterans. Dr. Tontz is a prior Navy METOC officer and his research seeks to support the recruitment, persistence, and academic success of military and veteran students. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of San Diego, a Masters in Education in College Student Affairs from the University of South Florida and a PhD in Higher Education Administration with concentrations in Teaching and Learning and Diversity in Organizations from the University of Denver.
