Sr. Director of Human Resources for the College of Health Solutions. Prior to joining CHS, Norma served as interim Assistant Director overseeing the Office of Human Resources Partners group. The OHR Partners group provides consultative services to colleges and departments pertaining to employee relations matters, coaching and counseling, customized training, organizational development, workforce planning, and reorganizations.
Prior to serving as interim Assistant Director, she held the position of Senior HR Business Partner and Senior EEO & ADA Consultant, where she independently conducted investigations of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, and facilitated EEO related training. She also provided consultative services to departments, faculty, and staff to support and foster a culture of inclusiveness and promote equal opportunity and diversity initiatives and ensured compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Norma has an extensive background in human resources, Title VII and Title IX. Prior to joining the Arizona State University in 2015, she worked for the State of Arizona in various HR roles, to include Chief Human Resources Officer, Employee Relations Administrator and Equal Employment Opportunity Administrator.
Norma has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with an emphasis in Public Administration and holds a Master of Legal Studies (MLS) with an emphasis in Employment Law and Human Resources from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. In her spare time, Norma enjoys hiking, camping, and sporting events.
