Johanna Urrutia serves as Assistant Director of Corporate Partnerships within the Corporate Engagement and Strategic Partnerships Team and the Office of Economic Development at Arizona State University’s Knowledge Enterprise. In this role, she plays a key part in fostering strategic relationships that connect ASU with leading corporations, government agencies, and research institutions.
With over a decade of experience in strategic relationship cultivation across higher education, healthcare, and the nonprofit sector, Johanna manages CESP+OED’s contributions to ASU’s national security and defense portfolio, including the Security & Defence PLuS Alliance. Her expertise lies in building strong, sustainable partnerships that drive innovation and underscore the university’s role as a leader in applied research and industry collaboration.
Previously, Johanna held worked at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, College Success Arizona, and the W. P. Carey School of Business at ASU, and served as a Program Officer for the German Marshall Fund of the United States, where she advanced transatlantic policy dialogue and managed international security and civil society programming.
Johanna holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and a Master’s degree in International Security Studies.
