Clayton Kidd

Clayton Kidd became a full-time instructional professional for Arizona State University in January of 2015. He is also the coordinator for the ASU@Yuma School of Criminology and Criminal Justice program in Yuma AZ. Prior to joining ASU, Kidd served with the Tucson Police Department for more than 27 years retiring as a captain. Additionally, Kidd has been teaching in an adjunct role in the Tucson area for more than six years for Pima Community College, the University of Arizona and ASU. He is also a U.S. Army veteran.

Kidd has unique experiences within the criminal justice field having provided command oversight for nearly every unit within the Tucson Police Department. He has served on a variety of committees specializing in community policing and police community relations. Beyond the traditional roles found within police organizations, Kidd has expertise in the area of human resources where he has worked at a national level developing hiring, retention and promotional processes for public safety organizations in an effort to promote a more diversified work force, one that is reflective of the communities served.

Kidd earned his master's in administration and a bachelor's of applied science in justice systems policy and planning degrees from Northern Arizona University.
