Dr. Erica Soltero received her doctorate from the
University of Houston in 2016 and is currently a postdoctoral fellow
at the Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention at Arizona
State University. Her doctoral work focused on community-based health
promotion in underserved populations. Her interests in this area led
her to seek additional training in understanding the relationship
between physical activity, inactivity and cardiometabolic risk factors
in order to inform the development of community-based interventions
and strategies that reduce disease and the burden of disparities in
minority youth. Erica’s current work at ASU is focused on
developing family-focused interventions to reduce diabetes risk
factors in obese, prediabetic Latino youth.
