Julia is from Phoenix, Arizona and graduated from ASU with a MS in Applied Biological Sciences in 2026. Her research explored how anthropogenic disturbance and environmental gradients influenced habitat use and activity of local wildlife populations. As a Research Specialist with the Central Arizona-Phoenix Long Term Ecological Research (CAP LTER) program, Julia conducts biodiversity surveys along the Salt River and monitors ecosystem health and function at Tres Rios Constructed Treatment Wetland. Her research interests include wildlife biology, conservation biology, and urban ecology.
Julia earned her BS in Environmental Science and BA in Spanish from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ in 2018. As part of her dual major program, Julia lived in Argentina for a year studying how science, culture, and language can be used to shape environmental research, science communication, and community outreach. In her free time, Julia enjoys volunteering at Liberty Wildlife, hiking, swimming, and going to baseball games with friends.
