Dr. Megan Karns Garvy has more than twenty years experience working in education including K-12 and community college teaching, professional development, program management, institutional assessment, federal grant administration, and peer mentorship. Her research focuses on student and educator identity, college access, and educating culturally and linguistically diverse learners including dual language immersion programs and policy in Arizona. At Mesa Community College, Megan is Chair of the Student Outcomes Committee and responsible for guiding the assessment of student learning outcomes, which is a function of college accreditation. As service faculty, her work includes initiating, supporting, and evaluating practices and programs to advance academic achievement for all learners. Since 2015, she has also supervised the academic areas for the dual enrollment program. In 2015, Megan was the recipient of the League of Innovation Education Excellence Award.
