Long Bio
Dr. Perkins received her Bachelors of Science degree from Arizona State University in Family and Human Development in 2018. She then went on to receive her PhD in 2023 in Child Development with a certificate in college teaching from Michigan State University. Her research history focuses on resilience in children who have experienced adversity and trauma, as well as the role of ecological supports in resilient behavior after experiences of childhood adversity and trauma. As an instructor, Dr. Perkins places emphasis on a collaborative learning environment, as well as using inclusive teaching practices and the development of career skills through course work.
