Shaylyn Sheaffer Kerbey is an assistant clinical professor in the College of Health Solutions at Arizona State University. Her career working as a speech-language pathologist with adults with acquired neurological diagnoses in an outpatient clinical setting in Phoenix, Arizona helps to prepare students for future diverse medical SLP experiences.
Kerbey graduated with her master's degree from Arizona State University in 2016. As a speech-language pathologist, she completed evaluations and treatment for patients with various diagnoses including: stroke, brain tumor, TBI, concussion, dementia, progressive diseases such as PD and PSP, head and neck cancer, and dysphonia. She collaborated closely with neurologists, ENTs, social workers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and counselors. She teaches students about the importance of delivering a person-centered care experience to all patients with neurogenic communication disorders.
