Long Bio
Antonia Papandreou-Suppappola joined the ASU faculty as an assistant professor in 1999 and was promoted to full professor in the School of Electrical, Computer and Electrical Engineering in 2008. Her research interests are in the areas of statistical and time-varying and statistical signal processing with contributions in adaptive waveform design, Bayesian non-parametric learning, radar, wireless communications, structural health monitoring, and biomedical and genomic signal processing. Her research work has been funded by AFOSR, DARPA, NSF, NASA, NIH, ONR and DTRA.
She was elected Fellow of the IEEE in 2008, and she received the 2020 IEEE Region 6 Affinity Group Individual award for Women in Engineering, 2020 IEEE Phoenix Section Outstanding Contribution to Promoting Women in Engineering award, 2010 Bob Owens Memorial Best Paper Award, 2003 IEEE Phoenix Section Outstanding Faculty for Research award, and 2002 NSF CAREER award. She also received the Teaching Excellence Award of the Top 5% of Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering Teachers (2009, 2018, 2021, 2022, 2023), Fulton Exemplar faculty award (2014), and Fulton School of Engineering award (2013).
Her professional service with the IEEE Signal Processing Society includes Award Board, Women in Signal Processing (chair), Member-at-Large, Board of Governors, Conference Board Treasurer, Technical Committee, and Phoenix Chapter (chair). She was associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing and IEEE Signal Processing Letters, and she participated in numerous IEEE conferences as Special Sessions chair, Technical Area chair, Publicity co-chair, North-American Liaison, and member of Technical Review committee member and Technical Program committee member.

Research Interests
Her research interests are in the areas of time-varying signal and system processing, stochastic processing with applications in adaptive sensing, radar, wireless communications, biomedicine, and structural health monitoring.
