Jennifer Sniegowski is orginally from Denver, Colorado, and attended Colorado State University, where she received a bachelor's degree and master's degree. She moved to Arizona to attend graduate school at ASU, and worked in Professor Wachter's lab, on the green fluorescent protein (GFP). There, she carried out research on structure-function relationships with the main investigations centered around the details of how this useful protein is able to synthesize its own chromophore. Sniegowski has also worked as a Postdoctoral researcher at the USDA ALARC facility in Maricopa, AZ, studying protein-protein interactions in plant systems. She then joined the Faculty at the ASU Polytechnic Campus, where she taught a variety of courses, including Anatomy and Physiology and General and Introductory Chemistry. She then moved to the ASU Downtown Phoenix campus in 2010 to teach Biochemistry, and mentors student Instructional Aides to teach the Biochemistry lab course. She continues to engage students in active learning environments in all of her courses, and has expanded her teaching to include Anatomy and Physiology.
