April began her career at ASU as a student worker over 20 years ago and has worked on both Tempe and Downtown Campuses in many areas: School of Social Work, Provost office, Event and Meeting Services, Student Engagement, College of Nursing and Health Solutions, Environmental Health and Safety, and currently Knowledge Enterprise - Complex Adaptive Systems. April holds two master’s degrees from ASU, enjoys her time doing research, creating presentations and educating others. Her interest in healthcare evolved from being a care giver to older family members with end of life care and palliative care. Her deep understanding of the stresses and struggles in providing care to others while also trying to maintain self-care, receiving mental health support and finding continuity in medical care are crucial goals she wants to develop within the IFH to expand throughout Arizona.
