Long Bio

I began working at Arizona State University in 1976 and have held a variety of positions over the years. I began as a research laboratory technician working on a study of burros and bighorn sheep for Professor Robert D. Ohmart. I began assisting with editing and hand-drawing graphics for manuscripts, and then became a word processing specialist. We published in Auk, Condor, the Wilson Bulletin, Ecology, the Journal of Wildlife Management and others. We also published a book, Birds of the Lower Colorado River Valley. As the use of computers in the office evolved I became an office automation specialist and then tech support. I also was an administrative assistant and administered grants for Professor Ohmart. I have been in the same department over the years, but it has changed names from the Center for Environmental Studies, Global Institute of Sustainability, Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability, and Global Institute of Sustainability and Innovation. I am currently a member of the Knowledge Enterprise Web Services team and continue to learn new things.

I received my degrees from Arizona State University. I have a BS in bioagricultural sciences which, at the time, was considered pre-veterinary courses to attend veterinary school. As life happens and things change, I started work rather than going to veterinary school. After working off campus for a year I started working for Professor Ohmart. While working I received my MS degree in botanical taxonomy under Professor Donald Pinkava.
