Prof. Green has an active research agenda in health economics utilizing health care simulations and experimental economics to better our understanding of how clinical decision-making is influenced by changes to health care policy. She has a track record of leading interdisciplinary teams in the investigation of health care payment systems, behavioral biases in deceased-donor transplantation, and experimental design. She has received funding from the NIA, NIDDK, NIDA, and NSF.
Prof Green is the recipient of the 2011 Lee B. Lusted Award in behavioral economics presented by the Society of Medical Decision Making for her work on clinician incentives. She is also the recipient of the 2020 College of Health Solutions Research Award in acknowledgement of significant contributions to the college's mission through research.
She earned her Ph.D. from the Economics Department at Virginia Tech. She was an Alliance Fellow at the Mayo Clinic’s organ transplantation center.
