Long Bio
Adriana Diaz-Heppler is an educational researcher, doctoral student, and graduate teaching assistant at Arizona State University (ASU). She began her journey as an educator in 2016 after earning her undergraduate degree in Special and Elementary Education from ASU. Driven by a passion for reading and writing, Adriana transitioned from teaching 3rd grade to middle school English Language Arts. She dedicated seven years to classroom teaching before completing her Master’s in English Education with honors and being accepted into the doctoral program at ASU. Currently, Adriana teaches First-Year Composition. Her recent research interests include counterstory and cultivating writerly identity in Latinx girls, with broader interests in trauma-informed writing and equity-based pedagogies.
