Chris Joseph is a Master of Social Work (MSW) graduate student at Arizona State University with a deep commitment to community healing, mental health, and public service. He is currently completing his practicum as a therapist at Brazen Therapy, where he provides trauma-informed, culturally responsive care to individuals navigating life transitions, identity, and mental wellness.
Chris' passion for social change began early. In high school, he was named Phoenix Outstanding Young Man of the Year, and later as an ASU undergraduate, he served as a mentor coordinator with the Obama Foundation’s My Brother’s Keeper initiative, supporting youth of color through leadership development and advocacy.
At ASU, Chris also serves as a Student Admissions and Recruitment Coordinator for the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions. He is the co-founder of Thyrd Space, a salon-style community initiative aimed at combating the loneliness epidemic by fostering kinship, curiosity, and collective healing through conversation, art, and storytelling.
Chris hopes to advance research and practice focused on loneliness, racial and gender-based trauma, and the power of communal support systems in improving mental health outcomes, particularly for Black and queer communities.
