Linda Persau earned a B.A. in cultural anthropology at the University
of California, Davis. In 1996 she completed an M.A. in human resources
with specializations in organizational change management and career
planning through Ottawa University in Phoenix. Her career experience
includes work in corporate human resources/recruiting positions with
organizations including Citibank and the California Highway Patrol.
Before coming to ASU's West campus in 1999, she was an instructor,
placement director and internship coordinator for several private
colleges in Arizona.
Ms. Persau teaches New College courses including "Adult Career
Development" and "Work and Identity." She also serves
as capstone coordinator for New College students who major in
integrative studies. The B.A. program in integrative studies includes
a capstone internship experience in which students reflect on their
intellectual and personal pursuits within the context of a field
experience. Students are encouraged to pursue additional internship
experiences throughout their program of study.
Ms. Persau says she is fascinated by the ways the world of work is
changing, and it has become her mission to help prepare students to
take their places within that world of work. Her training in cultural
anthropology taught her to be an observer and to see the greater
context within which we all operate and how this changes over time.
She works to help students match their range of interests, skills and
abilities with the global economic conditions and trends that
constantly reshape today's workplace.
