Dr. Nika Gueci is a higher education leader with extensive experience advancing organizational well-being, leadership effectiveness, and institutional sustainability at scale. She serves as Executive Director of WellnessWorks in the Office of the Chief Wellness Officer at Arizona State University.
In this role, Nika oversees institution-wide efforts focused on leadership effectiveness, well-being, and creating conditions that support long-term human sustainability. Her work influences how leadership expectations are set, how work is structured, and how care and well-being are integrated into daily operations across academic and administrative units.
Nika works across community, nonprofit, corporate, and academic contexts to advance culture change, leadership development, and workforce well-being as a public good. Grounded in the ASU Charter stating that institutions have a responsibility for the health of the communities they serve, her work connects internal leadership practice with broader community and sector efforts, emphasizing structural clarity, leadership accountability, and environments that can sustain people and mission over time.
Nika is a nationally recognized speaker and educator who has delivered more than 1,000 presentations and has been featured on NPR, Good Morning Arizona, and ASU News. She was named one of Arizona’s Top 50 Leaders by Women We Admire and Emerging Leader by Arizona Women in Higher Education (AWHE). She co-chairs the Arizona Department of Health Services Mental Well-Being Committee and serves on the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association’s Wellness Task Force.
Nika holds an EdD in Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University, an MA in Communication from New Mexico State University, and a BA in Russian from Columbia University.
