Riley Basteyns is an Instructional Designer Associate for the Office of Design and Learning at MLFC. They earned their BA in English (Writing, Rhetorics, and Literacies) from Arizona State University, and a minor in Biological Sciences. Now, they are a graduate student with ASU's Center for Biology and Society studying the intersection of rhetoric and health.
Prior to joining MLFC, Riley served as a Graduate Service Assistant with the School of Life Sciences, and as a Writing Mentor with the Writers' Studio, where they helped facilitate both life science and first-year composition courses. Through this experience, they have recognized the value of strong instructional design and decided to pursue certificates with the University of Miami. They are passionate about accessibility, equity, and inclusion in the classroom.
