Paul Morris
Paul Morris is the founding director of the Master of Liberal Studies program and has taught creative writing, literature and cultural studies at ASU for more than 25 years. He is a published travel writer with a focus on culinary topics. He has also been active with public humanities, working as Literature Director with the Arizona Commission on the Arts and worked for many years as a creative director, copywriter, speechwriter, web writer, public relations writer, editor of corporate communications, and technical writer.
He is a well-published writer with many poems, translations, essays and articles. He was awarded a poetry fellowship and an artist project grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts and has been nominated for three Pushcart Awards. He is featured as a writer at large with his Valley Notebook essays in each issue of the the Valley Guide Magazine.
Paul Morris holds an M.F.A. in creative nonfiction writing from Goucher College, plus an M.A. in Humanities from Southern Oregon University. His B.A. in English is from Arizona State University.
