Dr. Marc Jacofsky is adjunt faculty with SHESC and serves as Vice
President of Research and Development at The Center For Orthopedic
Research and Education (The CORE Institute). CORE's research
is focused on improving the standard of musculoskeletal health care
in Arizona and across the nation. Dr. Jacofsky tests patient
outcomes following orthopedic procedures in CORE's gait lab and
clinical research programs. He also oversees the biomechanical
testing lab where the interaction of orthopedic devices with
cadaver bone and tissues is explored.
As a recent PhD graduate of SHESC, Dr Jacofsky is interested in
continuing to foster the interdisciplinary training he received
through the IGERT program "Musculoskeletal and neural adaptations
in form and function." His anthropological interests center on
primate functional morphology, namely musculoskeletal adaptations in
the primate hand. He welcomes collaboration with any faculty
and students from Arizona State University that share common
research interests or would like to utilize the equipment available
through The CORE Institute for collaborative research projects.
