Charles Reeves manages capstone projects at ASU's School of Sustainability (SOS). The goal at SOS is to build the capstones to be a major differentiator in the graduate and undergraduate programs by allowing students to gain and demonstrate competency developing solutions in partnership with real-world executives.
Charles has been bridging the space between academia and real-world organizations since 2009, when he began running the "Emerging Markets Laboratory" at the Thunderbird School of Global Management. Charles left Thunderbird in 2021 after growing the Lab to be the capstone Global Challenge Lab, which embeds all graduate students in an international, real-world consulting project. In the meantime he led other consulting engagements for MBA curriculum development in Nepal, for small business development in Colombia, and with the social responsibility team at Resolution Copper, among others.
Charles has spent two years living in Benin, West Africa as a small business development Peace Corps Volunteer and one year in Ethiopia as the Country Business Manager for the Millennium Villages Project. Charles has his MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama, where he was a three-year letterman on the swimming and diving team and competed in the 2000 US Olympic Trials.
