Ron Karp is an Emeritus Professor in aviation with the aeronautical management technology program in the Polytechnic School at Arizona State University. When joining ASU in 1994, he developed, and then managed, the ASU Mesa Air Group Airline Bridge Training Program; this unique airline-focused aviation education and flight training program uses high-fidelity motion-based and fixed-based simulators and scenario-based training to prepare graduates for immediate hiring by the airlines. Karp received his doctorate in administration and management from Walden University in1996. He is a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel with more than 27 years of service. While in the Air Force, Karp flew the F-4 and the F-16 and held multiple senior leadership positions, including being the Fighter Wing Commander of F-4G Wild Weasels in Operation Desert Storm.
Karp is active in the University Aviation Association (UAA) and served on the Board of Trustees for two years; additionally he was the chair of the UAA Flight Simulation Committee.He was previously the chair of the East Campus Academic Programs Committee and the chair of the Polytechnic Campus Personnel Committee.
