Stefania Tracogna received a master’s degree in mathematics from the University of Trieste in Italy, and a doctorate in computational mathematics from Arizona State University, where she researched algorithms for the Numerical Solution of Differential Equations. She has taught a wide range of courses. Her main teaching interest is in Engineering Mathematics: Calculus for Engineers, Differential Equations and Applied Linear Algebra. She has played an integral part in the development of online curriculum for engineering courses and the management of the school online homework system, WeBWorK. She is active in shared governance at the school, college and university levels, including the University Senate, and is president-elect of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) Senate. She is the recipient of the CLAS Distinguished Teaching Award for Lecturers, and the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences Award for Outstanding Instruction and Service.
