Bassam Matar is a faculty associate in the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering at Arizona State University. He is a residential faculty at Chandler-Gilbert Community College with more than 33 years of engineering teaching experience and seven years with industry. Bassam received numerous NSF grants to enhance the engineering program for students. More specifically, his career includes service as PI or Co-PI on eight National Science Foundation funded grants.
Recognitions and awards include Motorola Educator of the Year Award, the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development Award, the 2010 Electronic Engineering Times ACE Award Educator of the Year, and the City of Gilbert Community Excellence Award for Educator of the Year.
